I'm on a roll!

So today I went to my local camera store to get a new lighting set up for my weddings. I had every intention on getting that and a macro lens for ring and detail shots, well over an hour later I leave with a traded 17-40 4.0 for a 24-70 2.8. I'm pretty stoked even though this meant spending way more money than I planned on! More light means better reception shots, HOLLA! I've almost finished building my new set up and I'm pumped! I'm headed to Wilmington tomorrow to do an engagement session of my best friend Melissa and her fiance so be on the look out for some pics from that shoot soon! Have a great weekend!

Alisha's Bridal Portraits

Today I did the beautiful Alisha's bridal portraits. This was my first shoot with my new 5D and I must say it lived up to all of the hype I have heard about it! Of course, there will be no dress shots, just one gorgeous head shot...

Great Strides

As most of you know my niece Sophie has Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is a non curable lung and digestion disease. Research to find a cure is NOT funded by the government so events like Great Strides are VERY, VERY important! If you don't know much about the disease I encourage you to go to www.cff.org to learn more. I am walking for Sophie this year as I did last but I am not going to collect under my own name just under my sister and her husbands. This is their link, please donate if you can and for every donation over $50.00 I will give you a free portrait session! Thanks for your time and support.

Now I'm off to bed so I'll be ready for this busy week I have ahead of me! Thanks again for your time and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I know I did(see above photo for proof:))

Guess what I'm getting...

Yes I'm finally catching up with every other wedding photographer in the world, I'm getting a Canon 5D. I'm so super pumped that I finally got to order mine yesterday from B&H! I couldn't resist 2 day air for only $10.00 more. I will definitely be taking it out for a test drive as SOON as it hits my front door tomorrow so be on the look out for some new and improved photos. HOLLA BACK!

On a more serious note. Tricia (CFhusband.blogspot.com) got her lung transplant last night into early this morning! Please be praying for her as she is now walking the hardest part of the journey, recovery. Also pray for her family and the family of the donor.

If you have a few minutes...

You should really go here and check out this video. I did a post a while back about Tricia, Gwyneth, and Nathan (a family dealing with the affects of Cystic Fibrosis and premature birth) and ABC 11 a local news channel as well as the N&O did a story on them this week. They did an amazing job covering their story. So grab a tissue and watch their courageous story. If you are interested in following their journey you can go to http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/ it's definitely worth going to and bookmarking. On this beautiful spring day we should all be thankful for the wonderful gifts the Lord has blessed us with, even through life's hard times there is so much to be thankful for. Thank you Nathan and Tricia for sharing the most intimate details of your life to help spread God's word, to help people understand Cystic Fibrosis, premature birth, and the importance of being a organ donor.
